PG&E turning off power for 1,600 people in the North Bay

PG&E on Friday night confirmed the utility will turn off power Saturday morning in several North Bay communities to proactively help reduce the risk of wildfires.

Approximately 1,600 customers in the North Bay will be affected by the power shutoff.

The shutoff, which is targeting areas of extreme fire risk, is due to an extreme weather forecast on Saturday.

The areas affected include portions of unincorporated Napa County including Lake Berryessa and portions of Solano County including parts of Suisun City and unincorporated areas near Vacaville and Winters.

The power shutoff is expected to begin Saturday at 6 a.m. and will likely be in effect through at least Saturday afternoon, according to PG&E.
